CAITLIN QUINN (11)
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO DO THIS PROJECT?
Because I wanted to learn how to use a camera.
WHAT ONE WORD DESCRIBES YOU BEST.
Fun.
IF YOU WERE AN ANIMAL, WHAT WOULD YOU BE?
A cat.
IF YOU WERE MAROONED ON AN ISLAND, WHAT THREE THINGS WOULD YOU WANT TO HAVE WITH YOU?
A camera, a bird that can carry messages and a huge amount of paper.
WHAT IS THE ONE THING THAT PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT ABOUT YOU?
I don't know.
WHAT IS MOST "SPECIAL" TO YOU ABOUT YOUR PARENT?
The special thing about my mom is that now, after the chemo, she has a lot more fun knowing that she has no more medicine to take.
IN WHAT WAY HAS HAVING A PARENT WITH CANCER CHANGED YOUR LIFE?
My mom having a brain tumor has changed my life because now I know the tumor is gone for good and now we can have fun together.

PEGGY QUINN (CAITLIN'S MOM)
DESCRIBE SOMETHING THAT YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOUR CHILD WHILE YOUR PORTRAIT WAS BEING TAKEN AND WHAT IT MEANT TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED BY HIM/HER.
Doing this series of photos took us back to facing the past year. It was a difficult year for Caitlin to endure because she knew I had a brain tumor, heard about people going through chemotherapy but did not know what it was all about. We want to move on to wherever it might be and hope for the best. Taking the photos was/is a reminder of the past for both of us.
WHAT IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT LEARNING EXPERIENCE THAT YOU HAVE SHARED WITH YOUR CHILD, SINCE BEING DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER?
I am not ready to leave Caitlin. I am willing to do whatever it takes to stay around, as healthy as I can, for as long as I can to be with her. There were several times I just wanted to never start, give up, never go back, but!!! I am so lucky to have a wonderful daughter, husband, Dr. Henson, Mary Walsh RNNP, Dr. Braun, Dr. Muriel, and their supporting staff to support and drive me through this. Not a day goes by without a thought of love and gratefulness for what has been done for me.
